'If I can hold a pencil, I will create art'

Welcome to my page. I'm a big fan of manga style artwork and I always prefer to create my art by inking and using Photoshop to get that comic book look. I'm constantly on the look out for things to inspire me and always looks up to people like Mark Crilley or Montey Oum who created RWBY to help give me ideas. Hopefully in the future I will become a Pokemon master.....................................I mean a professional artist :D

Feel free to join my somewhat awesome group :D

Sorry for the lack of artwork recently, I know I've tried to get the odd pieces done but I think its time to get serious. Ill put in twice the effort now to do more regular art and throw in some Christmas bonuses toward the end of year ;)

Would you say that looking at references to help you do art is a form of cheating?

So ... just drawing? I may not be an illustrator, but I have a few suggestions for you if you'll take them. There's a lot of good art memes floating around DA, I think those would really help give you new ideas for practice. And I've seen many artists improve a lot in the course of doing a webcomic, so I think there's a good way. It doesn't have to be the greatest story or anything, in fact I think trying to make something "bad" or cliché or trope-filled can really help when writing your first major story, as long as you have a regular and somewhat tough schedule pushing you to work on it almost every day. And then I also believe in this one thing someone once told me, that the key to mastering an art form is seven years of creating the art, seven years of learning about the art and seven years of appreciating the art. The "seven years" thing is somewhat metaphorical, but the main point to realize is that it will take a long time (at the very least ten to twenty-five years of serious work) and to split that time evenly between (in the case of illustration) creating illustrations, learning new illustration skills and techniques, and looking at illustrations by other people. If you do all three of those seriously, I think it's only a matter of time.
